South Allegheny Middle School/High School Reviews

This school, in my opinion isn't at the average level most schools are at. All the teachers give 'busy work' instead of actually spending the time to really teach kids the basics. Also just recently there was a bomb threat, although this was a threat to the children there, the dean of students went ahead and suspended privileges to all middle schoolers. the bomb threat was found near the middle schoolers, but all children shouldn't have been punished for anthers wrong-doing. This school has many children with a lot of spirit, but lacks the quality most other schools have.

SA middle and high school has seen many improvements since I've graduated. The number of programs offered to students has grown, but the quality of the programs has went downhill. I am actually surprised at how many parents are involved with their kids education and school in comparision to other area high schools. Teachers and Administrators almost completely ignore behavior and disciipline problems or a regular basis. This is one area that the school needs to really focus on. How can a student bring up their grades if they don't feel safe at school. The level of professionalism by the teachers is embarassing. Most teachers act as immature as a high school student. The school offers a variety of AP and Honors courses, but in most cases the 'honor' students aren't getting ahead of the game, they are getting bogged down with 'busy' work, which doesn't prepare them for life after high school.

Good math and science, relatively poor English and literature.
