Carrick High School Reviews

Carrick high school is an above average school. Yes, it has it problems like any other school. It is a clean building. It's entire staff-principle,teachers, aides, custodial staff and food service workers- care and take pride in their job and building. The teaching staff that i have encountered over the past 2 years are for the most part excellent. They do care about the students and will go the extra mile to help a student get back on track or to prevent him/or her from falling behind. The help & support is not just for the honor students, but for anyone that needs and accepts it. The biggest problem that i have witnessed at chs is lack of parental involvement. This is evident at all school functions from open house, conference day, and sporting events- such as football games at cupples stadium. . Parents must get involved.

the school is filled with bad teachers, the students are misbehaved and the system of education presented in that school is very low

I was a student at Carrick High School recently (just graduated from college) and looking back on it, I really enjoyed my time at Carrick. It makes me angry when people want to move out of the city for a 'better education'. (Moreover, compared to my peers in college, I benefited and have street smarts from the exposure to different cultures, races, etc.) Schools are what the students and parents make of it. Parental involvement is key, and because I had great parents and supportive teachers, I was able to completely benefit from the musical and honors programs at Carrick. The music program is wonderful and highly recommended.

I am currently a college bound senior at Carrick High School and I feel that CHS has a good deal of potential to be a good school, but it needs A LOT of changes first. Parents, faculty, and teachers don't care about what happens to the students and let the children run wild through the halls and outside of school. Carrick also has two sides: If you want to be there to learn, they'll teach you well with honors classes, but if you don't, you'll get left behind. However, there are a lot of great activities like the student newspaper, National Honor Society, and a variety sports, however, not enough students participate. If everybody could step things up, the school could be returned to it's glory days.
